THE BAD LUCK FOOT
Have you ever heard about the bad luck foot? How true is it?
Toju and I clicked off as friends real fast. There were things about him that made it so easy to relate with his personality. The way he spoke about business, hustle, life and his ever readiness to assist were commendable especially with no attachment.
Our friendship was fine until a Mercy pointed something I haven’t heard of in my life. She wanted to know how we became acquainted and where the friendship was heading. Girrrlll!!! Chill, he is just a friend and we enjoy discussing life. She began to thank God🤦♀️ and I thought she was happy because she was interested in him, only for her to state she is avoiding him because his left foot carries bad luck.
A very confusing statement because I had no clue of how Toju’s feet are as I had to reason to check them out or what bad luck foot looks like. Mercy gave me series of stories told from generations as she explained. She also told a story of her friend’s ex who suffered different things and it was because of his feet. The next time I saw Toju, I looked out for it and I only noticed that his left foot isn’t straight and not the first time I’m seeing something like that. It is not unusual but why termed bad luck foot. A number of people have inverted foot/foot.
She is from Calabar, and Toju is a Yoruba guy, so it may not apply to him. From our discussions, he is from a very comfortable family, as an individual, things are going fine for him except heart breaks (every guy claim the same) so no obvious bad luck. I never discussed this with Toju but the seed of avoidance had been planted. I kept asking how true and started looking out for people with the same kind of foot/feet. Funny enough, when I met my husband, before the dating, I kept looking at his feet
The thing about myths is, even when you try to convince yourself that they are not real, you find yourself believing in them.
How true is this thing about a part of the body not being formed well be a sign of bad luck? We all are beautifully and wonderfully made in God’s image. Moreover dimples, bulging eyes, gapped tooth are also explained to be a kind of dent in formation. Are they also bad luck carriers?
Sometimes I feel guilty for allowing things like this rule my decisions.

You said it all Nancy!
