SOMETHING ABOUT LAGOS
Today, I had to move around Lagos to see a friend. Well, it’s not really around Lagos, but a part of Lagos. Observing the ever bustling and hustling of people, I concluded that there is really something about this place called Lagos.
Everyone is busy. There is always a movement and barely any stillness. You are either busy doing something meaningful to get you some bars or doing something silly to get you the same bars, and this is why we have the hawkers, the hooligans, the white collar job people, the pick pockets, the traders, the food vendors, bus drivers, road side vendor and what ever you can think of.
Looking around, I admired the movements and getting to the market area, I admired it more. I think I love that everyone is busy and moving. I remember serving in Jos, the acclaimed bubbling place in Plateau states and observed that by 8:00AM, everywhere would always remain calm. Shops locked, few people walking on the streets in a relaxed manner and that was very strange to me because at 6:00AM places like CMS in Lagos is already a busy place.
🙂, Lagos is indeed a crazy place. It will take Lagosians ample time to conform to the normalcy of saner climes.
